Why is it that basic housekeeping tasks always seem to be the lowest common denominator in computers? Even a mission to Mars is brought to its knees by forgetting to clean up the old junk! I am personally happy to have experienced continuing exponential growth in storage at exponentially decreasing prices! A bit of compression, a massive increase in storage — remember 160KB single sided disks? — and keeping EVERYTHING (or needing to clean it up ala Mars rover!) is not a problem!! ddv
